The Senior School Service Coordinator provides leadership for service programming, supporting students and colleagues to engage in service that is authentic, thoughtful, and aligned with WPGA's values and programs.
About the Role:
The Service Coordinator leads and coordinates the Senior School service program, working collaboratively with students, faculty, leadership, and community partners. This role balances vision and coordination, shared responsibility, and support from Senior School leadership.
A two-block teaching release is provided to support this work.

- Build strong relationships within the school community and strengthen our connection to local and global communities through positive culture, partnership, and service to others
- Place student wellbeing at the heart of teaching, learning, and decision-making
- Inspire joy in learning and model enthusiasm, care, and optimism each day
In this role at WPGA, you'll be directly involved in:
Leading & Evolving Service Programming
- Providing leadership for Senior School service initiatives, ensuring they remain meaningful, relevant, and responsive to both student interests and community needs
- Working with the Vice Principal of Student life to guide the overall vision and direction of service learning in the Senior School
- Supporting the development and work of the Service Council, including meeting facilitation and a council retreat
Program Integration & Collaboration
- Collaborating with faculty to support authentic, curriculum-connected service experiences within Senior School programs
- Exploring opportunities for thoughtful connection between Senior School and Junior School service initiatives
- Acting as a point of coordination and communication for service-related activities across the Senior School
Service Experiences & Community Engagement
- Planning, organizing, and (where appropriate), chaperoning service experiences, including work toward a Senior School service trip during Spring Break 2027
- Building and sustaining relationships with community partners and service organizations
- Supporting student volunteer efforts and initiatives, including Service Innovation Grants, advisory-based service learning, guest speakers, and intra-school service opportunities
Student Leadership, Recognition & Communication
- Creating opportunities to highlight and celebrate student service, both within the school and more broadly
- Overseeing Service Pins and recognition at assemblies
- Supporting initiatives that encourage broad participation (e.g., Service Fair, March into Service, school-wide drives and events)
Organization & Stewardship
- Maintaining accurate records related to service hours, participation, and funds raised
- Using data and reflection to inform future programming and communicate impact
- Developing and refining the annual service calendar in collaboration with leadership

Founded in 1996, West Point Grey Academy is an independent co-educational day school in Vancouver, British Columbia. Set on 18 acres with sweeping views of English Bay and the North Shore mountains, we offer future-focused programs to approximately 940 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.
