WSB Distributors is a South Australian, family‑owned, agricultural machinery business proudly supporting a diverse customer base and our regional communities for more than 90 years.
Due to a retirement, we are seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead WSB into the future, building on our reputation for exceptional service within our branches across the State.
About the Role
Reporting to the Directors, the Business Manager will join the Executive team and take responsibility for operational excellence, commercial sustainability and support the business with strong, values-based leadership.
Based in Clare, with responsibility across all WSB branches, this role is hands on and responsible for efficient, compliant, customer focused, operations that are aligned with our strategy and meeting the needs of a fast‑paced agricultural machinery business.
Key Responsibilities
It’s a diverse role which requires a leader who is adaptable, quick on their feet and leads by example. Our people are key and you’ll ensure we have a cohesive, high‑performing team, with the right people, the right skills, at the right time. A focus on recruitment, training, development and performance management is essential.
You will have budget oversight and take responsibility for the financial sustainability of the business in partnership with the Commercial & Sales Manager and CFO.
Working closely with the Commercial & Sales Manager and sales team you’ll make sure they have the resources and support to achieve their sales targets to drive profit and commercial sustainability.
Your day-to-day leadership will include key administrative functions and activities including Aftersales (Branch Managers, Parts and Service), HR, IT, Procurement, Lease and Facilities Management, Marketing and Accounting Support.
You will empower your leaders, delegate effectively and offer guidance and assistance when
required.
About You
You will be an experienced leader who understands the demands and opportunities of operating in a rural environment. Demonstrating exceptional senior leadership capability, you’ll be commercially focussed and be able to manage a diverse team to meet business strategies and goals.
With excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills you’ll work well with a diverse range of staff, customers and suppliers.
You’ll enjoy regular visits to the branches to maintain relationships, assist with mentoring and training, onboarding, operational issues, conducting reviews and quality checks.
Ideally you will have experience in the agricultural machinery, automotive, equipment, or related industries and be familiar with dealership management systems (DMS) or ERP platforms.
