Qualifications and Requirements

Required

• A minimum of 7 years' progressive experience in data center / mission-critical facility commissioning.
• Direct experience commissioning 100% liquid-cooled AI/HPC halls, not solely traditional air-cooled data centers.
• Demonstrated independence from equipment sales, consistent with commissioning-authority credentialing requirements.
• Ability to design and run deliberate failure-scenario testing and prove recovery under realistic load.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or a related field, or equivalent field commissioning experience.
• BCxP (ASHRAE) or CxA (ACG) certification — required; candidates without an active commissioning-authority credential will not be considered.

Preferred

• Experience serving as commissioning authority of record on hyperscale or AI-factory-scale builds.
• CDCPM (data center management); NETA Level 3 or higher for electrical acceptance scope.
• Experience with digital or AI-assisted commissioning tracking and documentation tools.

Leadership & Interpersonal

• Independent technical judgment; comfortable being the named signatory of record on a client-facing deliverable.
• Rigorous documentation discipline — builds an auditable evidence trail from design intent through turnover.
• Strong communication skills across design teams, delivery partners, and client executive stakeholders.

Travel: Up to 50%, including international.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $131,200.00 to $196,800.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What is the Facilities, Infrastructure & Technology (FIT) practice and why join?

Within WWT's Technical Delivery & Engineering organization, FIT is our newest advisory capability, built at the intersection of the physical and digital data center. WWT's independent assurance model rests on two signatures: a licensed engineer certifies the design is sound, and WWT's own commissioning authority certifies the build is proven. This role is that second signature — the certified authority of record who lets WWT tell a client, credibly, that what was designed was built and will perform.

Position Overview

The Lead Advisor, Commissioning & Assurance is WWT's independent Commissioning Authority (CxA) for AI Factory and liquid-cooled deployments. You run the full commissioning sequence — Levels 1 through 5, factory acceptance through integrated systems testing at full load — and serve as the named signatory who confirms a completed build was independently tested, validated, and performs as designed. Independence from equipment sales is core to this role, not incidental to it: it's what makes WWT's sign-off carry weight across any OEM. This role is accountable for:

• Leading commissioning activities across Levels 1–5 for AI Factory and liquid-cooled deployments.
• Independently reviewing the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design early in the design phase, to catch issues before they are built into the facility.
• Planning and overseeing load-bank and integrated systems testing, including deliberate failure-scenario testing and proof of recovery under load.

You will be the certified authority of record on WWT's client engagements — the person whose name and judgment stand behind the claim that a build is proven, not just complete.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission liquid-cooling systems and controls integration (BMS, DCIM, EPMS) to confirm telemetry and alarms are proven, not just the physical equipment.
• Maintain independence from equipment sales per commissioning-authority credential requirements; identify and document any potential conflicts of interest.
• Produce a rigorous, auditable commissioning documentation and turnover package — test scripts, results, issues, and resolutions.
• Engage early in the design phase alongside the Principal MEP Advisor, rather than only testing what's already installed.
• Serve as the named, certified authority of record for WWT's independent assurance sign-off on client engagements.
