The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is a leading nonprofit organization that has a strong commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.    Position: Youth Sports Coordinator    Pay Rate: $18.00-$20.00   About the Role As a Youth Sports Coordinator, you’ll help create a fun, welcoming, and engaging sports environment for children ages 3 and up. You’ll support the delivery of youth sports programs, work with participants and families, and help ensure each program provides a positive experience where children can learn, grow, stay active, and have fun at YMCA Silver Spring.   What You’ll Do As a Youth Sports Coordinator, you will: Assist with planning and delivering fun, engaging sports programs for children of various ages and skill levels. Help facilitate activities such as soccer, basketball, gymnastics, and other youth sports. Create a positive, inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and skill development. Support coaches, instructors, and volunteers during practices, games, and special events. Build positive relationships with children, families, and caregivers and communicate program information as needed. Ensure activities are safe, organized, and aligned with YMCA policies and safety standards. Maintain program spaces, equipment, and supplies. Assist with promoting programs and encouraging participation. Share feedback and ideas to improve the participant experience. Support other youth programs and branch activities as needed. What We’re Looking For We seek an enthusiastic and dependable team member whose values align with the Y’s mission: Experience working with children and youth in sports, recreation, education, childcare, or a related setting preferred. Knowledge or experience with youth sports, instruction, or recreational programming preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills.
