Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounting and Bookkeeping Virtual Staff to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage financial tasks efficiently. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently while contributing to the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal requirements compliance.
- Reconcile and balance accounts, manage invoices, receipts, payments, and financial documentation.
- Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Accounting:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Handle payroll processing and related tax filings.
- Financial Analysis:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant or bookkeeper, preferably in a remote or virtual setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax filings.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software and tools.
