About the Role

Novy is looking for an expert in market research and customer discovery to join our team. We are headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but the majority of our roles (including this one) can be remote.  

You will be responsible for collaborating closely with our startup idea candidates in validation to perform extensive market research on their competitive landscape, total addressable market, and product demand. The goal is to come out of this with a deep understanding of their target customer base, including common pain points, goals or expectations, alternative solutions, and unique attributes. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Facilitating customer discovery as we evaluate potential portfolio companies to invest in
  • Conducting and documenting customer interviews
  • Coalescing and presenting information in succinct manner
• Performing thorough market research to be able to assess business opportunity and Novy fit
  • Examining a variety of markets and opportunities
  • Translating findings into quantifiable insights
• Generating reusable and scalable reports and processes
  • Helping us compare hundreds of investment opportunities over coming years

Requirements:

• Mathematical competency
• Analytical mindset with an outgoing personality
• Passion for researching, interviewing, and hypothesizing
• Exceptionally clear writing skills 
• Healthcare and/or software experience will be extremely beneficial 
• Startup exposure a plus
