Job Description
NeoWork is currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Associate to join our team. As a Medical Records Associate, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining medical records, ensuring their accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility.
NeoWork is committed to providing comprehensive and efficient healthcare services. This team member will work in direct collaboration with a Clinical Compliance team member. They will be responsible for gathering medical records including charts, claims, forms, documents, communication log, etc. in response to requests or audits.
We are looking for someone who has excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of medical terminology and be familiar with medical record management systems and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Tracking, monitoring, and timely SLA for gathering medical records.
- Organize and maintain medical records in both physical and electronic formats
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of medical records
- Verify patient demographic information and update records as needed
- Retrieve and prepare medical records for appointments, as required
- Scan and upload documents into electronic medical record systems
- Assist healthcare professionals in locating and retrieving medical records
- Follow proper procedures for record retention and disposal
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other healthcare privacy laws
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience working with medical records or in a related role
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with medical record management systems and procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficient in using computers and electronic medical record systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Owned computer or laptop and stable internet connectivity.
- Knowledgeable in Office 360, Google Apps, and client-facing communication.
- Data entry, attention to detail, written communication, proficiency with office software, QA of records collected, awareness of HIPAA practices and records exchange
- Collaboration with the onshore team for access issues.
