The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing laboratory and production equipment to ensure reliable performance and minimal downtime. This role supports daily lab operations by coordinating preventative maintenance, calibrations, and repairs while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability so our teams can meet production demands and continue delivering an exceptional customer experience.

  • This role is located at the SLC Lab (2595 Custer Road SLC, UT 84104)
  • Start Date: April 27th, 2026
  • Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 7am-7pm
  • Training Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am-6pm

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and operational SOPs
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and repairs on laboratory and production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system issues while identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Develop a strong understanding of equipment operations, including system faults, calibrations, and technical requirements provided by equipment manufacturers
  • Coordinate and prioritize multiple maintenance activities and projects with competing priorities
  • Maintain accurate documentation for maintenance, preventative maintenance schedules, and safety records
  • Train and support machine operators on proper equipment usage, safety protocols, calibration procedures, and maintenance practices
  • Maintain and manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available when needed
  • Support lab performance by helping the team meet operational goals related to equipment uptime, cost efficiency, safety, and production output
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility services
  • Assist with sourcing vendors, obtaining quotes, and supporting purchase orders for maintenance work and equipment services
  • Communicate equipment issues, risks, and operational concerns promptly to department leadership
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all associates
  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
