We are looking for an Intern Java Software Engineer to support the development and evolution of our award‑winning, cloud‑based eCommerce Online Payments Platform. You will work in a modern Agile, DevOps environment with a fully implemented CI/CD model, gaining hands-on experience while learning from experienced engineers. 

The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, curious about how large‑scale systems work, and eager to learn.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work with an Agile team and assist in the design and development of our Real-Time Payment Solutions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for development and a willingness to learn! We are looking for self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment – which means wearing many hats, being able to change direction quickly, and showing an eagerness to learn new technologies as the need arises.

A typical day at ACI for an Intern Software Engineer is:

• Participating in the design, development, testing, and delivery of high-quality software 

• Creating and reviewing unit and integration tests, executing tests, and analyzing results 

• Supporting the investigation and resolution of customer-reported issues 

• Collaborating closely with teammates in an Agile, cross-functional environment 

• Performing other related duties as assigned 

• Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. 

• Understands and complies with Risk Management program requirements including identification of risks, key controls, and control testing as applicable to their responsibilities. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed to succeed in this role:

• 2–3 years of completed coursework in Computer Science or a related field 

• On track to graduate within the next 1–2 years 

• Basic understanding of software development technologies and methodologies 

• Knowledge of software development best practices, including source control, unit testing, and secure coding principles 

• Proficient English level 

You are a solid fit for this position if you also have:

• Experience with Java 

• Understanding of Agile software development principles 

• Exposure to one or more of the following technologies: JSON, Docker, Kubernetes 

• Experience or coursework related to cloud-based microservices, ideally using Spring Boot 

• Basic knowledge of Linux environments 

• Interest or experience in working with AI models for coding or development assistance
