20four7VA is seeking offshore independent contractors to deliver remote services to clients worldwide, with a primary focus on developed markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
A California-based law firm is seeking a full-time Bilingual (Mandarin) Intake & Administrative Virtual Assistant to support client communications and internal administrative operations.
Approximately half of the firm’s clients are Mandarin-speaking. This role is critical in ensuring accurate interpretation, professional intake handling, and efficient administrative coordination between clients and legal staff.
The ideal candidate is professional, empathetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing both translation responsibilities and administrative tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
This is a full-time remote position requiring availability during Pacific Standard Time business hours.
Contractors will be required to provide services that align with the following client tasks:
- Client Intake & Language Support (30–40%)
Serve as the first point of contact for Mandarin-speaking prospective and existing clients
Provide real-time Mandarin-to-English and English-to-Mandarin interpretation during calls
Assist with client intake calls and gather required case information
Ensure accurate and clear communication between clients and attorneys
Translate written communications and documents as needed
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy during sensitive conversations - Administrative & Operational Support (60–70%)
Manage and route incoming calls using RingCentral
Update and maintain accurate records in MyCase legal management software
Assist attorneys and legal staff with documentation and case-related follow-ups
Coordinate client communications and appointment scheduling
Perform general virtual assistant and administrative duties as assigned
Maintain organized, confidential digital records
Each engagement is based on a defined scope of work and is governed by an independent contractor agreement. Services must be performed professionally, with adherence to any timelines, guidelines, and deliverables agreed upon in writing.
Requirements

- Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) – Required
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
- 3+ years experience in:
- Client intake
- Administrative support
- Virtual assistant or office support roles
- Professional and confident phone presence
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential legal information with discretion
- Comfortable working full-time during PST business hours
Requirements

- Prior experience working in a law firm or legal environment
- Experience using:
- RingCentral
- MyCase (or similar legal case management software)
- Experience supporting bilingual client bases
- Phone System: RingCentral
- Case Management: MyCase (or similar legal CRM)
- Communication: Gmail / Google Workspace
- Documentation: Google Docs / Microsoft Office
- Scheduling: Calendar management tools
- Contracted Hours per Week: 40 Hours
- Scheduled Working Days: Monday through Friday
- Daily Working Time: 8:30 AM- 5:30 PM PST (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Note: The Company will make reasonable efforts to align the Assigned VA’s schedule with the Client’s preferred hours as set forth above. However, availability may vary based on time zones, capacity, and the contracted hours set in this SOW. Any changes must be mutually agreed to in writing through a revised SOW.
- Contractors will operate under a Master Services Agreement and a Statement of Work
- This is not an offer of employment; contractors are not employees of 20four7VA or any client
- All compensation is processed through 20four7VA according to the terms of the engagement
