OtherUnderwriter

We’re redefining consumer lending in the UK, and beyond. Using advanced AI and Open Banking data, we make fair, affordable personal finance available to more people. While traditional lenders rely almost entirely on credit scores, we look at the full financial picture - how much you spend, and what you can afford to repay to build a deeper, more accurate understanding of each customer's unique financial situation.

Our Underwriting team has grown from a single underwriter to more than 25 people, bringing together a wide range of backgrounds and experience, all Underwriting multiple products. This also brings a sense of community and great progression opportunities.

We work closely, support one another, and have built a team culture we're genuinely proud of. Every contribution is visible and valued, with a direct line from individual effort to team performance and the wider business's growth.

We're target-driven, but just as focused on improving how we work — new ideas are welcomed, tested, and often put into practice fast.

  • Liaise directly with customers to obtain and verify information where required.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of underwriting processes and procedures.

  • Work independently day-to-day, while proactively building your knowledge and skills over time.

  • Strong understanding of fraud, AML, and customer vulnerability indicators, with a keen eye for emerging risk trends.

  • High attention to detail, and confidence in making sound judgment calls under time pressure.

  • Solid IT and numerical skills, with clear written English and effective verbal communication.

  • Highly organised, with strong pipeline management, time-management, and prioritisation skills.

  • A collaborative approach — happy to support colleagues and contribute beyond your immediate remit.

  • Nice to have - Experience in underwriting using Open Banking/transaction data, specifically, rather than credit file data alone.

  • Nice to have - Familiarity with FCA Consumer Duty and responsible lending requirements.

  • We take ownership of our work, support one another when required, and follow through to delivery.
