Working within the Customer division, you assess medical and financial risk for both new and existing business while supporting positive outcomes for customers, advisers, and partners. You build trusted relationships through clear communication, thoughtful decision-making, and excellent service, while protecting AIA from undue risk. Collaborating with experienced underwriters, medical professionals, and reinsurers, you contribute to continuous improvement, share knowledge with colleagues, and grow your expertise in a supportive and values-driven environment.

  • Assess medical and financial information to make sound, fair underwriting decisions that balance customer needs with risk outcomes
  • Build trusted relationships with advisers, customers, and internal stakeholders through responsive, clear, and professional communication
  • Explain underwriting decisions confidently to support understanding, transparency, and policy conversion
  • Apply underwriting guidelines, authority limits, and reinsurance requirements consistently to maintain quality and compliance standards
  • Identify potential non-disclosures and take appropriate action to protect the integrity of underwriting decisions
  • Support the development of colleagues by sharing knowledge, encouraging collaboration, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

  • You have 3+ years of experience in medical and financial underwriting and use sound judgement to assess risk and determine appropriate terms
  • You bring strong critical thinking skills and analyse complex information from multiple sources to make balanced decisions
  • You are a confident communicator and presenter, able to engage audiences and develop strong, productive stakeholder relationships
  • You bring a customer-focused mindset and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes while managing risk effectively
  • You have strong attention to detail and maintain accurate documentation across systems and underwriting platforms
  • You may also have a relevant qualification and experience contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency and service quality

At AIA, your experience matters, and so does your impact. In return for your expertise, we offer a career where you can apply your skills to meaningful work that improves lives across Asia-Pacific.
