Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for driving execution of strategic initiatives that support Accuity's operational excellence, organizational transformation, product expansion, and growth objectives. Reporting to the Vice President, Operations Enablement, this role serves as a key partner to operational leaders, product teams, technology teams, and executive stakeholders by establishing project governance, maintaining accountability, managing risks, and ensuring successful execution of high-priority initiatives.
This role goes beyond traditional project coordination by proactively driving alignment, facilitating decision-making, escalating risks, managing competing priorities, and holding stakeholders accountable for agreed-upon commitments. The Senior Project Manager helps create organizational discipline, transparency, and execution rigor across cross-functional initiatives while ensuring projects deliver measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with executive presence, influence skills, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare environments while driving initiatives from concept through implementation.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Execution
Lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from planning through implementation and operational transition.
Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and success measures that support organizational objectives.
Drive project execution through proactive accountability management, stakeholder engagement, and structured follow-through.
Facilitate decision-making and issue resolution to maintain project momentum and achieve desired outcomes.
Ensure project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
Contribute to the ongoing development of project management, governance, and continuous improvement capabilities across the organization.
Governance and Accountability
Establish and maintain project governance practices that improve organizational transparency, prioritization, and execution discipline.
Hold project stakeholders accountable for commitments, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies.
Escalate risks, delays, resource constraints, and unresolved issues in a timely and constructive manner.
Facilitate prioritization discussions and elevate tradeoffs impacting project success.
Ensure key decisions, action items, ownership assignments, and project outcomes are documented and communicated effectively.
Strategic Initiative Management
Support enterprise initiatives spanning Operations, Clinical Operations, Product, Technology, Reporting & Analytics, Client Success, and other business functions.
Partner with executive leadership and operational leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable project plans.
Coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives while balancing competing organizational priorities.
Monitor initiative health and proactively address barriers to execution.
Support organizational transformation efforts, operational excellence initiatives, process redesign efforts, technology implementations, and product expansion activities.
Risk and Dependency Management
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.
Develop mitigation plans that minimize disruption and improve project outcomes.
Anticipate execution challenges and proactively engage stakeholders to resolve issues before they impact project success.
Create visibility into project risks and facilitate informed decision-making.
Maintain awareness of organizational interdependence and ensure appropriate coordination across initiatives.
Communication and Stakeholder Management
Facilitate project meetings, steering committee discussions, executive reviews, and stakeholder communications.
Develop clear and concise project reporting that communicates progress, risks, decisions, and next steps.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Foster collaboration and alignment among cross-functional teams with differing priorities and perspectives.
Serve as a trusted partner to leaders by providing objective project insights and execution recommendations.
Documentation and Process Excellence
Establish and maintain project documentation standards and best practices.
Ensure project plans, meeting notes, decisions, risks, and action items are accurately documented and accessible.
Support development of repeatable project management methodologies, templates, and governance processes.
Contribute to organizational maturity in project management and execution practices.
Promote continuous improvement within project delivery processes and governance structures.
Other Duties as Assigned
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of business objectives.
Qualifications
Education and Credentials
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations, or a related discipline preferred.
Additional certifications in Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, or Program Management preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive project or program management experience.
Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance practices, and execution frameworks.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with executive visibility, competing priorities, and stakeholder involvement.
Demonstrated ability to drive decisions, resolve challenges, influence stakeholders, and deliver results.
Experience leading operational transformation, process improvement, technology implementation, etc.
Healthcare industry experience preferred including healthcare operations, clinical operations, revenue cycle, healthcare technology, payer, provider, managed care, or related environments.
Experience leading operational excellence, continuous improvement, or process transformation initiatives preferred.
