Responsibilities
~1 min readAs an RN Admissions Nurse, you'll help ensure patients and families receive the information, guidance, and care they need from the very beginning of their hospice journey.
Responsibilities include:
- →Conducting pre-admission evaluations to determine eligibility and appropriateness for hospice services
- →Educating patients and families about hospice care and available services
- →Facilitating the admission process and obtaining informed consent
- →Completing comprehensive nursing assessments
- →Developing initial plans of care tailored to patient and family needs
- →Providing interventions that enhance comfort, dignity, and quality of life
- →Serving as a trusted resource and advocate for patients and their families
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Hospice experience preferred (1+ year), but not required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to make independent decisions and prioritize patient needs
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
- Knowledge of quality assurance and performance improvement practices
