Responsibilities

As an RN Admissions Nurse, you'll help ensure patients and families receive the information, guidance, and care they need from the very beginning of their hospice journey.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting pre-admission evaluations to determine eligibility and appropriateness for hospice services
  • Educating patients and families about hospice care and available services
  • Facilitating the admission process and obtaining informed consent
  • Completing comprehensive nursing assessments
  • Developing initial plans of care tailored to patient and family needs
  • Providing interventions that enhance comfort, dignity, and quality of life
  • Serving as a trusted resource and advocate for patients and their families
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
  • Current RN license in the state of practice
  • Current CPR certification
  • Hospice experience preferred (1+ year), but not required
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions and prioritize patient needs
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and performance improvement practices
