JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Anesthesiology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Waterloo, Iowa Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Jun 29, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri; 6:30a – 4:30p Call Schedule: Night Call; 7 days per week, every 3-4 days Weekend calls Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 1:3-4 Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance covered COVERAGE DATES • Jun 29 – Jul 3 • Jul 6 – Jul 10; Jul 13 – Jul 17; Jul 20 – Jul 24 • Aug 17 – Aug 21; Aug 24 – Aug 28; Aug 31 – Sep 4 • Sep 1 – Sep 4 • Oct 1 – Oct 2 • Nov 9 – Nov 13; Nov 23 – Nov 27* • Dec 14 – Dec 18; Dec 21 – Dec 25*; Dec 27 – Dec 31 PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults, OB, and healthy pediatrics Average Daily Volume: 30-50 cases Case Mix: General surgery, OB (including TOLAC), healthy pediatrics (tonsils/adenoids), conscious sedation; no cardiac or neurosurgery FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 13 OR Rooms Trauma Level: Level III EMR System: Epic Support Staff Available: 6 physicians, 2 CRNAs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES General anesthesia OB anesthesia (including TOLAC) Pediatric anesthesia (healthy, tonsils/adenoids) Conscious sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC Licenses: Active IA license or IMLC Certifications: ACLS Other Qualifications: Availability for 2 weeks per month Must be available for weeks of Nov 23 and Dec 21 COVID vaccine required Clean background Duties & Responsibilities Evaluate and monitor patient care before and during surgery Administer general, OB, pediatric, and conscious sedation anesthesia Supervise CRNAs as needed Participate in night and weekend call rotations Document patient encounters in Epic EMR
