JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Dickinson, North Dakota Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call Only Coverage Period: Jun 26, 2026 – Jul 07, 2026 Shift Schedule: 24-Hour Call (7a-7a) Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 2-5 Case Mix: Trauma, Fractures, Dislocations, Sprains, Strains, Tendon ruptures FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Meditech, Allscripts Support Staff Available: ER staff, OR staff PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Credentialing Timeline: 2-4 weeks REQUIRED PROCEDURES Any orthopedic OR procedures, stabilizations, splinting. JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Orthopedic Surgery (BC highly preferred, BE required) Licenses: Active ND license (highly preferred) or Universal License (IMLC) DEA: DEA Certification (highly preferred, required during credentialing) Certifications: BLS, ACLS Other Qualifications: Clean malpractice history (highly preferred); Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation mandatory. Duties & Responsibilities Treat and manage orthopedic patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Perform Orthopedic surgical procedures including fracture stabilizations and splinting. Provide 24-hour call coverage, responding to ER consults and emergencies. Document all patient encounters accurately in Meditech/Allscripts EMR. Collaborate with ER and OR support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
