JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Hematology & Oncology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Providence, RI Service Setting: Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Sep 28, 2026 – Mar 29, 2027 Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8a – 4p On-Call Shift Schedule: Mon – Fri, 5p – 8a | Weekends (1-2 per month) Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Travel, airfare, lodging, and car rental covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Volume/Census: Inpatient: varies; Outpatient: 18-22 per day Rounding: Daily rounding, 1-2 hours FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Meditech (20% EMR, 80% paper) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Biopsies JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active RI Medical License (or willing to obtain), DEA, CSR Board: Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology DEA: DEA required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inpatient and outpatient hematology/oncology care Perform biopsies as needed Round daily on inpatients (1-2 hours) Take night call (5pm-8am) and weekend call (1-2 weekends per month) Manage patient volume of 18-22 outpatients per day and variable inpatient consults
