We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an innovative company operating in the renewable energy sector, an experienced Mechanical Engineer (W/M/D) to support the development of innovative mechanical systems and contribute to the company’s technological and industrial growth within a highly dynamic engineering environment.
The role focuses on the design, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical solutions supporting next-generation airborne energy technologies.
The company develops breakthrough technologies aimed at contributing to a more sustainable energy future and promotes a culture built around innovation, environmental awareness, integrity, ambition, and personal development.
Reporting directly to the Department Manager, you will contribute to the development of innovative mechanical systems within a fast-evolving and highly engineering-driven environment focused on next-generation airborne renewable energy technologies.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, prototyping, testing, and continuous improvement of lightweight mechanical systems and airborne power transmission technologies. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the development of innovative mechanical solutions from early engineering concepts through prototyping, manufacturing, integration, and validation phases.
The role covers the full engineering cycle, from preliminary calculations and CAD design to prototyping, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvement activities. You will work on complex mechanical systems involving rotating machinery, pulleys, gearboxes, cable-driven systems, and lightweight airborne mechanisms under strong performance and reliability constraints.
You will also collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners on sourcing, fabrication, and industrialization activities, while contributing to knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team when appropriate.
This permanent position (CDI) is based in Grenoble, France. Due to the highly hands-on nature of the role, on-site presence is important for prototyping, testing, and engineering development activities within a collaborative and international team environment. The company offers flexible working arrangements, including one remote working day per week depending on project activities and prototyping phases.
You hold a Master’s degree, Engineering degree, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
You bring significant experience (> 7 years) in mechanical engineering within highly technical and performance-driven environments such as automotive, aerospace, robotics, airborne systems, industrial equipment, or advanced mechanical product development.
You have strong expertise in CAD design, mechanical prototyping, assembly, testing, and product development, with the ability to move from engineering concepts and preliminary calculations to functional and manufacturable mechanical systems. A practical and hands-on approach to engineering challenges is essential for the role.
You are comfortable working on high-performance mechanical systems involving rotating machinery, pulleys, transmission systems, gearboxes, structural assemblies, and compact mechanical mechanisms under demanding performance and reliability constraints.
Experience with supplier coordination, sourcing activities, BOM creation, manufacturing processes, industrialization, and make/buy decisions is appreciated.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical capabilities with curiosity, autonomy, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindset. You thrive in fast-moving and multidisciplinary engineering environments requiring rapid iteration, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, as the role involves close interaction with engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing partners, and technical stakeholders within an international environment.
Fluent in English or French is required. International profiles are welcome, and support can be provided to strengthen the second language when needed.
If you are looking to contribute to the development of innovative renewable energy technologies within a highly engineering-driven environment, we look forward to receiving your application.
