Responsibilities

  • Directly or indirectly plans, implements, and evaluates patient and family care appropriate to the complexity of the problems and available system resources.

  • Uses clinical inquiry to improve clinical practice and service outcomes.

  • Assesses and evaluates care delivery models and implements changes based on outcome data.

  • Develops education programs to enhance patient outcomes and the overall quality of care.

  • Supports nursing practice through presentations, publications, research, and participation in professional organizations.

  • Contributes to establishing clinical best‑practice processes across the institution.

  • Coordinates with multiple disciplines to address and resolve system-level issues.

  • Demonstrates Direct Care Competency through holistic, advanced nursing interaction with patients, families, and populations to promote health and improve quality of life.

  • Demonstrates Consultation Competency by providing specialized expertise to assist patients, staff, or systems with problem-solving.

  • Demonstrates Systems Leadership Competency by managing change and empowering others to influence clinical practice and organizational processes.

  • Demonstrates Collaboration Competency by working jointly with stakeholders to optimize clinical outcomes through authentic, patient‑ and system‑focused engagement.

  • Demonstrates Coaching Competency by offering skilled guidance and teaching to advance patient care and professional nursing practice.

  • Demonstrates Research Competency through systematic inquiry, evidence interpretation, and participation in research and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Demonstrates Ethical Decision‑Making, Moral Agency, and Advocacy Competency by identifying, articulating, and acting on ethical issues at the patient, provider, system, community, and policy levels.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Basic computer skills in Office, Word and Excel [Required]

  • Advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice in specialty [Required]

  • Skill in the use of specialized equipment used in respective area of practice [Required]

  • Evidence of clinical expertise in a patient care setting or specialty practice [Required]

  • Evidence of project management and/or process improvement [Required]

  • Evidence of transformational leadership in implementation of evidence-based practice [Required]

  • Ethical decision making and patient advocacy [Required]

  • Knowledge of learning principles for population served [Preferred]

  • Evidence based practice implementation and innovation [Preferred]

  • Master's of Nursing [Required]

  • 2+ years of Position-Related Experience [Preferred]

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) [Required]
