• Communicates clearly and concisely with coworkers, patients, and physicians.
• Demonstrates and conveys a favorable image of the Medical Center and cooperates in a team atmosphere.
• Consistently works to stay up to date on referral orders to achieve the standard of care. Incorporates patient, physician, and customer needs into decision-making and organizational actions.
• Answers phone calls promptly, assists patients with questions, and schedules procedures as needed.
• Maintains referral integrity, processes all orders, and communicates with patients and providers.
• Checks voice mail and faxes frequently, sorts authorizations/denials, and ensures orders meet insurance requirements.
• Demonstrates a positive collaborative manner with team members and works well across department boundaries.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

• 1+ years of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding experience [Preferred]
• Administrative or clerical experience. Healthcare experience, call center experience or related [Preferred]
• Experience with insurance verification, referrals in medical office setting [Preferred]
