POSITION SUMMARY
Purpose
This position is responsible for operating and managing analytical instruments at Air Products' Annan ATD center. This position will serve as an Analytical subject matter expert, center of excellence contact point and technical advisor for ATD center operating site in Taiwan.
Nature and Scope
This position is responsible for analytical method development, compliance and documentation updates for AP products. He is required to develop/or review new/old analytical methods and ensure adequate inventory of laboratory standard gases and instrument accessories. He also handles all tasks related to quality issues, statistical process control, and any continuous improvement opportunities in the laboratory. He will also be required to provide technical training and enforce quality control standards.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Must ensure / assist in formation of safe work practices, and fully comply with all the safety regulations and procedures at the respective work place for all TW locations.
To review / develop new analytical methods for specialty gases by using appropriate instruments in the laboratory.
To supervise, train and motivate laboratory personnel on proper maintenance / repairs / procedures / operations.
To be responsible for all analytical instruments and equipment maintenance including diagnostic and calibration, as well as liaison with vendor / supplier.
Periodically review and recognize area improvement in laboratory.
Accountability for the correct certification and issuance of certificate of conformance.
To Supervise and direct personnel on record keeping of daily analysis results and up to date record are been kept.
To be responsible for maintaining, updating and implementing APS ISO system periodically, and to assist member any of AP staff on working procedures changes or review and submission of new procedure when require in EMOC system.
To manage the process for replenishment of any necessary laboratory standard gases.
To give advice, implement and perform any modifications deems necessary for improvement in the operations and safety aspects of equipment as per specifications.
Manage the Quality improvement initiatives and customer complaint resolution.
To ensure good housekeeping at all time for the whole laboratory facilities.
To execute and delegate assignment to laboratory personnel and to guide or provide assistance to laboratory personnel in order to achieve targeted goal.
To plan and maintain high standard laboratory workforce at all time, as well as interest in laboratory personnel welfare and difficulties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
≥ 3 years experience in ICP-Ms operation and method develop
GCMS, FTIR, particle counter, DMA-CPC and GC(DID/FID/TCD/ECD, etc) experiences are preferred
Previous experience in a laboratory or clean room environment is preferred
Experience with gas impurity analysis, chemical analysis instrument supplier and third-party notarization are a plus
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Chemistry
Must be hands-on and possess strong troubleshooting skills
Able to work independently as well as in a team
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Proficient with English speaking and writing
