Aleut Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of construction projects in remote Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. This role is responsible for overall project planning, administration, execution, client coordination, financial performance, and successful delivery of the work in accordance with contract requirements.
The Project Manager will work closely with the Regional Director, Superintendent, Site Safety and Health Officer, Quality Control Manager, subcontractors, suppliers, and Government stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contract requirements.
Responsible for providing oversight and direct day-to-day management for assigned projects, team, contractors, and consultants. Interface professionally with clients as a representative of the company. Ensure project completed in accordance with contract documents, within project durations, and within budget.
- Lead all phases of project initiation and planning, including project setup, schedule development, subcontract scope development, technical writing, submittal preparation, project-specific plans, staffing, site access planning, badging, project phasing, and closeout planning.
- Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, including cost projections, risk analysis, cost controls, and overall financial performance.
- Administer procurement and subcontract management activities, including contract review, subcontractor negotiations, scope development, agreement execution, reporting, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Manage all aspects of project execution, including:
- Design development and constructability reviews
- Document control
- Subcontractor coordination and management
- Client and stakeholder communication
- Contract deliverables and reporting
- Site visits and project meetings
- Change orders, equitable adjustments, and contract modifications
- Cost-to-complete forecasting
- Invoice management
- Coordination with design professionals
- Ensure compliance with Aleut's safety standards, project-specific safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and EM 385-1-1 standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with Government representatives, including the Contracting Officer and Resident Office staff.
- Oversee project completion and closeout activities, including inspections, acceptance, record documentation, financial closeout, and final reporting.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project team members through coaching, performance feedback, recognition, and corrective action in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
- Maintain effective communication between executive leadership and project teams.
- Manage all preconstruction and estimating activities, including:
- Solicitation reviews
- Quantity takeoffs
- Cost estimating
- Subcontractor pricing
- Pre-bid RFIs
- Proposal development and review
- Conceptual scheduling
- Project execution strategy
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to support continued business growth.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously through various stages of design and construction.
- Perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company policies, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Conduct regular project site visits.
- Collaborate with internal departments and business units to support successful project execution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Working knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and federal construction safety practices.

Requirements

- Base access procedures, badging, CEAL processing, phased construction, and force protection requirements.
- USACE Resident Management System (RMS), progress payment support, Red Zone turnover planning, and federal project closeout documentation.
- Utility coordination, roadway interfaces, barriers, fencing, and gate systems.
- Design-build delivery methods and complex phased federal construction projects.
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment background screening.
- Ability to obtain and maintain military installation access, including compliance with REAL ID requirements, CEAL processing, and vehicle access restrictions.
- Current CESCL Supervisor certification is required.
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and after-hours schedules as required to support project demands, outages, or critical milestones.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and deliver successful project outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clients, Government representatives, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
- Ability to develop and manage:
- Work plans
- Quality Control documentation
- Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Accident Prevention Plans (APPs)
- Traffic Control Plans
- Cost-loaded project schedules
- Experience developing, monitoring, and managing project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects in various phases of planning, bidding, design, and construction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Experience negotiating change orders, claims, subcontract modifications, and new contract awards.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Ability to apply lessons learned to improve project execution and organizational performance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and arms for computer and office work.
- Sufficient physical strength, balance, coordination, and stamina to perform required job duties.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in varying positions.
