Title: Director of Product
Reports To: SVP of Engineering
Location: Remote (NYC Area Candidates Only)

We’ve built the system of record for the $200+ billion insurance brokerage and agency market — an industry that forms the backbone of our modern economy. We serve a strong roster of customers including industry leaders like USAA and many others. WR Berkley, a Fortune 500 insurance holding company, led our Series B and provides invaluable strategic partnership as we reshape the insurance technology landscape.

About the Role

~1 min read

amplo is looking for a Director of Product to own the clarity, coherence, and execution of our product roadmap as we scale. This is a role for a true operator — someone who thrives on making things work, not just defining what they should be.

You'll sit at the intersection of strategy and delivery, ensuring that every sprint, every release, and every PM on your team is connected to what matters most for our customers and our business. You'll report to the SVP of Engineering and work in close partnership with the CEO and GTM leadership to translate company priorities into a focused, executable product direction.

This is the right role if you love building high-performing teams, establishing the systems that make consistent delivery possible, and holding yourself and others accountable to outcomes that customers can actually feel.

The lines between product, design and engineering are continuing to blur with the advancements of AI tooling. The right candidate will be comfortable at the cutting edge of these changes and come with curiosity and enthusiasm for building AI products and redefining how products get built.

Own the Product Roadmap Define and maintain a clear, prioritized roadmap within engineering's scope. Ensure that what the team is building is always traceable back to company strategy and customer impact — and that the "why" is never a mystery to anyone on the team.

Drive Execution and Delivery Quality Establish the processes, rituals, and metrics that make product delivery measurable and predictable. Identify and remove blockers, close gaps between planning and shipping, and raise the bar on what "done" looks like.

Lead and Develop the Product Team Directly manage and coach a small team of PMs. Set clear expectations, build a culture of ownership and accountability, and invest in each person's growth. Make amplo a place where great product people want to do their best work.

Be the Connective Tissue Across Customers & Engineering Partner day-to-day with sales, support, engineering and design to ensure alignment between technical execution and product intent. Translate priorities clearly so that engineers understand not just what to build, but why it matters.

Deepen Customer and Market Understanding Stay close to customers and synthesize insights into product decisions. Ensure the team is solving real problems with precision — and that customer impact is the primary measure of success.

  • Proven experience as a product manager or product leader in a high-growth SaaS or enterprise software environment

  • A track record of improving delivery quality and predictability — you've built the systems, not just followed them

  • Strong coaching and people management skills; you know how to develop PMs at different levels and hold them to a high standard

  • Ability to translate ambiguous company goals into a clear, actionable product roadmap

  • Excellent communication skills — direct, structured, and effective with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Deep customer empathy and strong analytical instincts

  • Experience in Salesforce ecosystems or B2B enterprise workflow software is a plus
