Applied Research Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer specializing in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support comprehensive systems engineering support in accordance with AFLCMC Engineering Directorate (AFLCMC/EZ) guidance, HQ AFMC directives, and relevant Division policies. The Systems Engineer will provide support to the WN PEO Training Directorate’s WNR Division, SCARS Program at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH.  

What We Offer

Plan, coordinate, and execute systems engineering activities in alignment with the latest AFLCMC/EZ Systems Engineering Guide and MIL-STD-961E.
Evaluate and integrate technical requirements from USG directives into system specifications and program documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve modeling issues (e.g., UAF-related errors), ensuring system models are operational and aligned with program requirements.
Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of modeling guides and best practices to support internal and external modeling teams.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to review and evaluate external reference architectures for potential integration into internal modeling standards.
Provide technical expertise across the full lifecycle of system definition, development, integration, verification, sustainment, and security compliance.
Upload and maintain model versions in collaborative development environments to enable model accessibility for distributed teams.
Provide input and recommendations on performance/system specifications, derived requirements, and verification methods.
Support digital engineering practices and agile software development principles in technical analysis and integration efforts.
Participate in systems engineering risk assessments; establish risk management reviews, track action item status, and update risk metrics.
Support the identification and mitigation of technical risks related to performance, schedule, and cost constraints.
Support the coordination and integration of technical inputs from a holistic systems engineering perspective.

Must be a US citizen
Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD
OR, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD.
Experience working in joint military or defense simulation environments.
Active DoD Secret security clearance
