Role Overview

Forty8Fifty Labs, the Atlassian consulting arm of Arctiq, is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect with deep Atlassian expertise and a passion for Cloud transformation. In this role, you’ll lead complex Atlassian Cloud migrations and consolidations, helping enterprise clients modernize, streamline, and scale their environments for the future.

This position is ideal for a technically strong, client-facing professional who can bridge architecture, strategy, and execution. You’ll partner with both technical teams and business leaders to deliver seamless, secure, and efficient transitions to Atlassian Cloud or Data Center environments.

Migration & Consolidation Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end Atlassian Cloud migration and consolidation projects, from assessment and planning phase to execution and post-migration optimization.
  • Assess existing Data Center/Cloud environments, identifying risks, dependencies, and optimization opportunities.
  • Design and implement scalable architectures aligned with best practices, governance standards, and business goals.

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Define target-state architecture for multi-instance consolidations and hybrid deployments.
  • Develop detailed technical designs, migration plans, and rollback strategies.
  • Optimize configurations, automation, and integrations for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Technical Expertise & Execution

  • Oversee data migration activities including projects, issues, workflows, and permissions.
  • Leverage automation tools, scripts, and APIs to streamline processes and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure robust testing, validation, and user acceptance procedures to guarantee successful transitions.

Client Engagement & Advisory

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives and change management needs.
  • Provide expert guidance on licensing models, platform consolidation strategy, and post-migration governance.
  • Serve as the senior technical point of contact, supporting both customer teams and internal project resources.

Best Practices & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay ahead of Atlassian Cloud updates, architectural innovations, and migration tooling advancements.
  • Contribute to the development of internal migration playbooks, templates, and best practice frameworks.
  • Maintain knowledge base of migration processes related to marketplace vendor apps.
  • Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across the organization.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience working with Atlassian products (Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Management, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience leading Cloud migration and consolidation projects for enterprise-scale environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Atlassian Cloud and Data Center architectures, including identity management, performance optimization, and security models.
  • Proficiency with migration tools such as JCMA, CCMA, Configuration Manager for Jira, or Project Configurator.
  • Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (e.g., REST APIs, ScriptRunner, PowerShell, or Python).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) or Atlassian Cloud certification.
  • Experience managing hybrid Cloud / Data Center coexistence or multi-tenant consolidation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-scale ITSM and Agile delivery frameworks.
  • Consulting experience within technology, systems integration, or digital transformation practices.
