Make a Difference Through Financial Excellence

Ascentria Care Alliance is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our Senior Services division. In this role, you will help maintain strong financial practices across multiple senior living communities while supporting our mission and the people we serve.

The Senior Accountant will manage financial reporting, reconciliations, resident and subsidy billing, HUD requirements, audit preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role also partners with community administrators and department leaders to strengthen processes, improve accuracy, and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Complete month-end and year-end close activities
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger, bank, and balance sheet accounts
  • Review financial results and investigate budget and prior-period variances
  • Support consolidated reporting across multiple entities and locations
  • Manage accounting and reporting activities for HUD-assisted housing programs
  • Review resident billing and subsidy calculations for accuracy
  • Prepare schedules and documentation for financial, HUD, and regulatory audits
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and KPI reporting
  • Partner with community and department leaders to improve processes and internal controls
  • Support accounting system enhancements and special projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least five years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across multiple locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation or progress toward certification
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, long-term care, or a Continuing Care Retirement Community
  • Knowledge of HUD-assisted housing, subsidy billing, and regulatory compliance
  • PointClickCare billing experience
  • Multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting experience
