About the Role

As a Talent Management Intern at Astera Labs, you will contribute to meaningful work that strengthens how we develop talent, support employee growth, and scale our talent-management programs. You will learn the current state of our talent-management processes, take ownership of a defined project or workstream, and partner with HR leaders, HR business partners, and the Talent Management team to deliver measurable outcomes.

This internship is designed for a student who is curious, organized, comfortable learning quickly, and excited to turn ideas into well-executed programs, processes, and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Own a meaningful project: Define milestones, manage priorities, and deliver a scoped talent-management project or workstream within the internship timeline.

  • Support talent programs: Contribute to program and workshop design, preparation, coordination, execution, and follow-up.

  • Apply talent-management practices: Build foundational knowledge of competency frameworks, skill matrices, talent assessments, and related process flows.

  • Improve how work gets done: Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes, support global scale, or design a new program or workflow.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders: Partner with HR leaders, HR business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather input, clarify requirements, and move work forward.

  • Track and communicate progress: Maintain clear milestones, surface blockers early, share regular updates, and connect project progress to aligned key performance indicators.

  • Create clear deliverables: Develop practical documentation, analyses, program materials, recommendations, or other assets that the team can use and build on.

  • Incorporate feedback and share impact: Iterate on your work, implement feedback, and communicate what you delivered, what you learned, and why it mattered.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college or graduate program.

  • Interest in talent management, employee development, organizational development, human resources, program design, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to organize work, manage deadlines, and follow through on commitments.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and willingness to ask thoughtful questions.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and work with a high degree of ownership.

  • Coursework, project, or internship experience related to talent management, human resources, organizational development, business, psychology, or a related area.

  • Exposure to competency frameworks, skill matrices, talent assessments, program coordination, or workshop design.

  • Experience organizing information, analyzing inputs, documenting processes, or developing program materials.

  • Comfort working across teams and adapting to evolving priorities.

  • Interest in building a career in talent management or broader people programs.

  • You build context quickly and understand how Talent Management supports Astera Labs.

  • You deliver high-quality project outcomes on time and communicate progress clearly.

  • You demonstrate ownership, sound judgment, problem solving, and cross-team agility.

  • You use feedback to improve your work and recommend practical process improvements.

  • You can clearly explain the problem you addressed, what you delivered, and the impact of your work.

What We Offer

This is a paid, hourly U.S. internship. The applicable hourly rate is determined as part of the offer process and specified in the offer letter, depending on education level ranges form $35/hour to $55/hour. U.S. interns currently receive a $500-per-week housing/relocation stipend for the duration of the internship. Interns participate in Early Career programming, including technical and professional-development sessions, community events, and an end-of-program project presentation.
