Senior Game Artist

I. KEY JOB DUTIES

1. Art Production as a Senior Game Artist (80%)

• Create/participate in concept art, key UI screens, main characters, and high-level assets.
• Ensure visual quality and consistency across the product.
• Keep up with art trends, propose creative improvements and contribute innovative ideas to enhance product development.
• Organize, arrange, and manage the image library for the team.
• Optimize images, sizes, and dimensions to enhance visual quality and performance.
• Support the exporting of images/animations for the Unity engine.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, themes, and new artistic styles.
• Review, overpaint, and refine AI-generated assets to ensure they meet the project's quality standards and technical requirements.

2. Other duties (20%)

• Define overall art direction (style, color, tone & mood).
• Provide visual direction for the product to meet market demands.
• Provide feedback and mentor the junior artist team (2D/3D/Animator).
• Collaborate with Game Designers/Producers to balance art & gameplay.
• Can apply animation & VFX (Spine/After Effect) at intermediate level
• Directly mentor a small team of 1-2 Junior Artists, guiding them on how to effectively utilize AI tools for artwork generation.
• Establish guidelines and best practices for AI tool usage within the team to maintain visual consistency and optimize production efficiency.
  

II. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

KNOWLEDGE:

• Have domain knowledge in the game development process.
• Strong technical foundation in visual design and user experience (UX).
• In-depth understanding of design principles, visuals, color theory, and user psychology.
• Knowledge of design language: materials, color, space, lighting, depth, movement, etc.
• Solid understanding of concept art and environment design.

SKILL:

• Strong art technical skills
• AI adoption mindset: able to apply generative AI tools and maintain a positive, forward-thinking perspective on AI integration in the creative process
• Demonstrate strong leadership & management skill 
• Intermediate English skills
• At least 5 years of experience as a Game Artist.

• A strong interest in midcore games art is a plus.
• A love of playing mobile games and sensitivity to the user experience is a plus.
• Certification in UX Design is advantageous.
• Understanding of various game genres and trends is a plus.
