Position Summary: Security Staff I Campus Lead serves as the on-site security lead for an assigned Athey Creek campus. This role carries all the responsibilities of the Security Staff I position while also providing leadership, coordination, and oversight of campus security operations. The Campus Lead manages service-day scheduling, leads and trains both new and current security volunteers, and ensures consistent application of Athey Creek’s security processes and procedures. The Campus Lead will meet all ACC and DPSST Armed Security standards, including approved training and continuing education for this position.
Experience & Knowledge Required

- Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in the scriptures
- Maintain DPSST Unarmed and Armed Security Professional Certification for the duration of employment for this position
- Achieve and maintain ACC Armed status
- Pass and maintain an ACC Security Fitness Test
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Authoritative yet approachable communication skills both verbal and written that reflect Athey Creek’s culture of warmth, grace, and mutual edification
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of staff and volunteers
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly; physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, track records, and maintain documentation across multiple services and events
- Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to anticipate security needs, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements proactively
- Experience in scheduling, team coordination, or volunteer management preferred
Duties & Responsibilities
Core Security Duties (shared with Security Staff I)
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and special events as needed
- Protect employer’s property and enforce laws
- Control visitor and employee building access
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure doors are secure, monitor for suspicious behavior, and provide operational support through safety checks and controlled visits
- Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies, quickly assess the situation, and take appropriate action to maintain the safety of staff and congregation
- Deter, de-escalate, and resolve any issues that may arise; detain violators as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents and complete all required documentation, inventory, and administrative duties
- Follow all security policies, including standards for use of force, de-escalation, and reporting incidents promptly
- Engage in regular training and maintain standards as set by Athey Creek
- Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edifying to one another
Campus Lead Duties (additional responsibilities)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all security operations at the assigned campus during services and events
- Develop and maintain service-day security schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all services, events, and special gatherings
- Coordinate volunteer placement and assignments based on individual strengths, training level, and operational needs
- Lead pre-service briefings and post-service debriefs to communicate assignments, review protocols, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement
- Recruit, onboard, and train new security volunteers in alignment with Athey Creek’s security processes, procedures, and culture
- Provide ongoing training and development for current volunteers, including refreshers on de-escalation, emergency response, and use-of-force standards
- Evaluate volunteer readiness and performance, offering constructive feedback and encouragement rooted in grace
- Communicate proactively with the Security Director regarding campus-specific concerns, staffing needs, incident trends, and recommended improvements
- Identify and assess potential security vulnerabilities at the campus and recommend preventive measures
- Ensure all security equipment at the campus is operational, properly maintained, and accounted for
- Collaborate with other ministry leaders and campus staff to coordinate security logistics for special events, holiday services, and outreach activities
- Model Christ-like leadership by serving humbly, communicating with clarity and kindness, and building trust with staff, volunteers, and congregants
- All other duties as assigned
