Responsibilities

→Lead, coach and develop a high-performing engineering team
→Partner closely with Product to define priorities and successfully deliver the roadmap
→Drive technical excellence, engineering quality and operational maturity
→Lead architecture and technical discussions across multiple teams
→Establish strong operational practices, including on-call processes, incident management and post-incident reviews
→Improve system reliability, scalability and performance for a business-critical platform
→Coordinate complex initiatives involving multiple engineering teams and external dependencies
→Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement
→Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives across AutoScout24 Group

Operate at a high level of efficiency using modern AI-assisted development tools
Coach engineers on adopting AI to improve software quality and delivery speed
Act as a role model for effective AI usage across engineering and leadership activities
Identify opportunities to integrate AI throughout the software development lifecycle
Support the team's AI maturity and adoption as part of its ongoing transformation

3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams
Strong prior experience as a hands-on software engineer
Experience building and operating large-scale backend or distributed systems
Strong background in object-oriented programming (preferably Java)
Experience leading architecture and technical decision-making
Experience introducing and running operational excellence practices, including on-call rotations, incident response and postmortems
Proven ability to deliver complex cross-team initiatives with multiple stakeholders
Passion for coaching engineers and building high-performing teams
Experience driving adoption of modern AI development practices within engineering teams is highly desirable
