You will define and manage the shared services roadmap, while partnering with engineering and product teams to integrate shared services into product experiences, improving consistency, scalability, and development efficiency. Your success enables a unified Avalara customer experience, stronger security and compliance, and supports AI-driven capabilities across the platform.

- →Improve adoption of platform shared services across Avalara product teams by partnering with product, engineering, and technical partners to integrate capabilities into product experiences.
- →Define and manage the shared services roadmap, prioritizing capabilities that improve customer experience, scalability, and development efficiency.
- →Partner with engineering and platform leaders to deliver shared services, translating business and customer needs into clear requirements, user stories, and backlog priorities.
- →Establish standard patterns for how products use shared services, reducing duplication and ensuring experiences across the Avalara platform.
- →Track adoption, usage, and performance of shared services, using data to inform prioritization and demonstrate impact.
- 6–8 or more years of experience in product management, with a focus on SaaS platforms or shared services.
- Experience driving adoption of platform-capabilities across multiple product teams in a complex, multi-product environment.
- Experience defining and delivering product roadmaps, and translating business and customer needs into clear requirements, user stories, and backlog priorities.
- Collaboration skills, with experience partnering with engineering, architecture, and teams to provide scalable solutions.
- Experience using AI tools in product development, including generating requirements, prototyping, or analyzing data to improve outcomes.
- Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, simple terms to all kinds of audiences.
- Experience building or supporting multi-tenant SaaS platforms and shared services architectures.
- It's a plus to have experience in identity and access management (IAM). This experience includes roles, permissions, entitlements, or related security and authorization domains. Additionally, it involves identity standards and protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, and single sign-on (SSO).
