Principal Cybersecurity & OT Security Architect #3593747
Quick Summary
Be Part Of A High-Performing Team: Join a global cybersecurity architecture function supporting a large, complex enterprise environment across IT, manufacturing, cloud, applications, data, AI, and operational technology.
Join a global cybersecurity architecture function supporting a large, complex enterprise environment across IT, manufacturing, cloud, applications, data, AI, and operational technology. This team plays a strategic role in shaping secure-by-design outcomes early in the lifecycle, partnering with enterprise architecture, digital delivery, product/platform owners, manufacturing IT, OT engineering, and cybersecurity domain teams to standardize security intent, reduce rework, and scale repeatable security architecture practices across the organization.
This is a remote opportunity supporting standard business hours in either the Eastern or Central time zone, with some flexibility available. The role includes occasional travel to a key business location for collaboration and stakeholder engagement. The selected consultant will contribute to enterprise-level cybersecurity and OT architecture strategy, helping define secure reference architectures, design guardrails, and practical implementation guidance across both IT and industrial environments.
- Define, govern, and advance enterprise cybersecurity and OT security architecture across cloud, application security, identity, data protection, logging, IoT/OT, AI, manufacturing, and industrial network environments.
- Develop and maintain reusable security reference architectures, patterns, templates, design guardrails, and decision flows that enable consistent secure design across the enterprise.
- Lead and participate in cybersecurity and OT architecture review sessions, validating solution designs against approved standards, risk considerations, and target-state security architectures.
- Shape secure-by-design decisions early by partnering with Enterprise Architecture, Digital/IT teams, manufacturing IT, engineering teams, system integrators, platform owners, and cybersecurity stakeholders.
- Define target-state OT cybersecurity architectures for visibility, secure remote access, segmentation, zoning, conduits, OT DMZ design, monitoring, vulnerability management, identity, endpoint protection, and data security.
- Translate cybersecurity requirements into practical, implementable designs that balance business needs, safety, availability, workload, and security.
- Establish and reinforce a minimum-security architecture bar for security reviews while ensuring consistent interpretation across programs, platforms, and industrial environments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, cyber risks, and shifts in the threat landscape, including AI, Zero Trust, cloud-native platforms, and OT security trends, and translate them into actionable architecture guidance.
- Support M&A, greenfield manufacturing, and domestic/international OT security architecture discussions and projects.
- Mentor and guide other cybersecurity architects and OT security resources, setting expectations for architecture rigor, documentation quality, and defensible decision-making.
- 7–12+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity architecture, network architecture, OT/ICS environments, or a closely related enterprise security architecture role.
- Strong architecture experience across industrial networks, OT DMZ design, secure remote access, OT monitoring platforms, routing and switching concepts, segmentation, and network/security architecture design.
- Deep understanding of enterprise security architecture frameworks, architectural modeling, security reference architectures, design guardrails, trust boundaries, risk tradeoffs, and modern security patterns.
- Strong knowledge of OT and cybersecurity standards and frameworks, including IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82r3, NIST CSF, CIS v8, Purdue Model, OSI Model, TCP/IP, and Zero Trust concepts applied to OT.
- Experience designing secure architectures across cloud, application security, identity, data protection, logging, IoT/OT, AI, and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to lead design strategy across large initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority through credible, well-reasoned, well-documented architectural guidance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex cyber and OT requirements into practical guidance for technical, engineering, manufacturing, IT, and leadership audiences.
- Experience mentoring senior architects or technical resources and influencing enterprise-level security decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional cybersecurity experience.
- Preferred certifications include IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert, CISSP, SANS OT certifications, CCNP, CCIE, CCDE, or relevant industry architecture framework certifications.
