This team partners closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, QA, SMEs, and senior leadership to deliver complex regulatory and risk management solutions. The work is highly visible, cross-functional, and centered on ensuring that business needs are translated into effective technology outcomes that support governance, compliance, and enterprise risk objectives.
Engagement: W2 only (no C2C/1099)
This is a hybrid opportunity based in Charlotte, North Carolina, supporting a long-term engagement within a large financial institution. The role offers exposure to senior stakeholders, enterprise-level regulatory initiatives, and complex risk technology programs across market risk, credit risk, reporting, and data-driven banking operations.
- Lead delivery of risk and regulatory technology initiatives by managing scope, timelines, risks, issues, and stakeholder expectations.
- Partner with business users to gather, analyze, document, and validate functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear IT requirements that support implementation, testing, reporting, and production readiness.
- Coordinate across developers, QA, SMEs, senior management, and geographically distributed teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis, gap analysis, and current-state versus future-state assessments to shape effective solutions.
- Support UAT, training, rollout, change management, and post-production activities.
- Provide senior leadership with clear updates on project progress, risks, issues, and action plans.
- Drive process improvements and ensure implemented solutions align with business, risk, and regulatory goals.
- 15+ years of professional experience within large financial institutions.
- Strong background delivering regulatory initiatives such as DFAST, Basel III, CCAR, FRTB, or similar risk/regulatory programs.
- Hands-on experience with risk and regulatory implementations, reporting, documentation, and production support.
- Strong understanding of Market Risk, Credit Risk, VaR, financial instruments, market data sources, trading systems, and risk governance.
- Proven ability to bridge business and technology teams by translating complex financial and technical concepts into actionable requirements.
- Experience managing multiple complex initiatives simultaneously with limited supervision.
- Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile project management frameworks.
- Proficiency with Jira, MS Project, Confluence, ServiceNow, Visio, Excel, or similar collaboration/project tools.
- SQL proficiency required; Databricks knowledge is a plus.
- Strong leadership, relationship management, stakeholder engagement, emotional intelligence, and executive communication skills.
- Understanding of financial operations, MIS, data management, and reporting processes within commercial and investment banking.
- BA/BS degree required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
