~1 min readThe Business Conduct Compliance Paralegal supports the in-house legal and compliance function by facilitating due diligence activities, supporting adviser onboarding and governance processes, maintaining compliance documentation, and assisting with the delivery of compliance programmes. Working closely with Legal Counsel, the role supports contract administration, policy management and regulatory compliance activities, helping to ensure the organisation meets its legal and regulatory obligations while promoting consistency and accuracy across compliance processes.
- Conduct due diligence activities in line with the Advisers Policy and wider business requirements
- Support the onboarding, monitoring and governance of advisers
- Draft, review and maintain adviser agreements and related compliance documentation
- Assist with contract reviews, negotiations and administration under the supervision of the legal team
- Maintain and update legal templates, policies, procedures, guidance and training materials
- Support compliance programmes including Fraud Prevention, Gifts & Hospitality and Conflicts of Interest
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess potential business impact
- Assist with internal and external audits, regulatory enquiries and information requests
- Work closely with legal colleagues and business stakeholders to support compliance objectives
- Provide administrative support to the Business Conduct Compliance team
- Law Degree, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), CILEX qualification or equivalent legal qualification
- Experience in a legal, compliance or regulatory environment, or a recent law graduate looking to develop a career in-house
- Understanding of legal terminology, document management and compliance processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
The role sits within the Head Office Legal Business Conduct Compliance team, which supports the organisation's compliance and regulatory framework. The team works closely with colleagues across the business on adviser governance, due diligence and compliance processes, helping to ensure legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements are met. As part of a collaborative legal and compliance function, the team provides guidance, oversight and support across a range of compliance activities.
