Responsibilities
~1 min readWe are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team with one of the biggest players in finance in the country and play a key role in supporting vital HR reporting processes while transforming and maturing to latest tech stack. You will be part of People Department, collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver reliable, governed data products that improve workforce experiences.
How you'll spend your day
- →Design, develop and maintain scalable, robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support HR modernisation.
- →Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- →Lead migration to cloud-based infrastructure and modernise ETL tools and processes.
- →Drive technical innovation and contribute to the broader organisational digitalisation journey.
- →Engage in DevOps aspects of data engineering, including setting up, configuring and maintaining infrastructure using infrastructure as code (IaC).
- →Ensure data quality and governance by implementing frameworks that guarantee accuracy, consistency and compliance.
- →Build and promote best practices in data engineering while staying informed on emerging technologies.
- →Be willing to mentor junior colleagues.
- Experience with end-to-end data engineering: ETL, data integration and data modelling.
- Strong SQL skills including performance tuning.
- Significant experience with cloud platforms and native services (AWS or Databricks is an advantage).
- Solid coding skills in data-friendly languages (preferably Python, pySpark).
- Ability and willingness to maintain and analyze legacy systems for smoother migration.
- Knowledge of data design patterns, including data lakehouse and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in CI/CD practices and using Git for version control.
- Familiarity with or eager to learn IaC tools such as Terraform.
- Advanced English skills; sense of ownership, adaptability and strong analytical problem-solving mindset.
- Nice to have: orchestration/scheduling tools, BI and data visualisation experience (e.g., Tableau).
