What We Offer

  • Serves as primary lead on the management of all investigations surrounding equal opportunity or diversity related complaints, claims of discrimination based on a protected class, claims of harassment based on a protected class or characteristics, and coordination with the EEOC for all external complaints regarding discrimination 25 
  • Supervises a team of departmental members to complete all investigations of BPD members for claims of harassment, discrimination or EEOC complaints and reviews the work product to ensure all investigations are completed 15          
  • Serves as a senior advisor to the Police Commissioner on all Departmental matters related to policies that impact diversity, equity, claims of retaliation, or discrimination   10   
  • Coordinates with Deputy Commissioners and the Chief of Staff to ensure that the goals set forth in the Police Commissioner’s strategic vision for the Department are being implemented. 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of laws related to Title VII-Civil Rights Act.
  • Use of Office products-Excel, Word, Outlook

Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed. 

All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory 1-year probation.
