An Administrative Analyst I conducts management studies and analyses to improve workflow, simplify procedures, and to implement cost reductions. Work of this class involves no supervisory duties or responsibilities.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from an administrative superior. Employees work a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office setting where there are no uncomfortable conditions. Work requires minimal physical exertion.

- Knowledge of the principles and practices of administrative analysis.
- Ability to develop administrative procedures and forms.
- Ability to conduct administrative and organizational studies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Ability to collect, compile and analyze data.
- Ability to assemble information for and prepare reports.
- Ability to deal with City government personnel effectively.
- Ability to express ideas and abstract thoughts clearly both in written and oral form.
- Ability to interpret the administrative policies and procedures of Baltimore City government.
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
