The Senior Financial Analyst & Accountant is a versatile, senior level individual contributor role sitting at the intersection of FP&A and Accounting. This position is responsible for performing a broad range of accounting and financial planning activities including general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, month end close, revenue analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting. The role will work closely with the finance and accounting teams, external auditors, and business partners to ensure timely preparation and analysis of financial statements, accurate planning data, and actionable insights for management decision making. This position plays a key role in enhancing processes, procedures, and analytical tools that drive operational efficiency and financial visibility across the organization.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Participate in month end close, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet account reconciliations, allocations, and analysis.
- Analyze, book, and forecast revenue in accordance with ASC 606; verify revenue recognition plans and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform product level revenue reporting as part of the monthly close cycle.
- Support the forecast and budgeting process; participate in planning/forecasting cycles for all assigned accounts including management reporting.
- Prepare reports and presentations for management on a weekly and monthly basis; interpret and develop reporting responsive to management and business partner requests.
- Using Adaptive Insights, manage monthly operational reporting processes and perform duties within the platform.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business operations, including scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling.
- Assist with the development of KPI dashboards and other reporting tools for the organization.
- Partner with individual business units to provide financial support, analytical decision support, and ad hoc analysis as required.
- Support internal and external information requests, including banking, tax, and audit inquiries.
- Participate in process improvements, department projects, and system enhancements.
- Maintain orderly, accurate, and complete documentation in support of assigned responsibilities and regulatory retention requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA a plus; MBA a plus.
- Minimum 7 - 10 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting, FP&A, or corporate finance.
- Public accounting / audit experience preferred.
- Hands on experience with Adaptive Insights preferred; NetSuite (ERP) and NetSuite ARM experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with PowerPoint, Word, and Microsoft Teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of balance sheet, P&L accounting and reporting, and GAAP requirements.
- Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability; experience building and reporting using financial models, dashboards, and standard reports.
- Ability to be an effective problem solver with strong investigative and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to effectively manage time, prioritize workload, and handle multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills (verbal and written) with a track record of partnering across functional teams and all levels of the organization.
- Independently driven with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must take initiative, be self-motivated, and dependable with a positive, energetic approach.
- Ability to maintain a professional manner and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
