The Organizational IT Administrator (Full-Time) will support the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.


We are seeking an IM/IT professional to deliver innovative technology solutions, streamline SMA processes, and ensure consistent implementation of NASA/MSFC IT standards across supported organizations. This position will provide valuable support through developing automated applications, coordinating daily IT operations, assisting users, managing IT assets, and partnering with OCIO teams to enable efficient, mission‑focused execution.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, document, and support automated SMA IT solutions while resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance.
  • Manage SMA software procurement, IT equipment, property, and coordinate with MSFC's primary IT contractor.
  • Maintain configuration management, cybersecurity adherence, required documentation, and account/access processes.
  • Collaborate across SMA/MSFC to identify needs, solve problems, and support mission IT requirements.
  • Support servers, team projects, presentations, and adoption of innovative IT tools and technologies.
  • Serve as OITM: align with OCIO guidance, coordinate daily IT operations, resolve escalated issues, and manage onboarding/offboarding workflows.
  • Oversee IT assets, device compliance, patching, and security updates.
  • Communicate IT changes, outages, cybersecurity updates, and center‑level initiatives to leadership and users.
  • Ensure user‑access governance and maintain accurate System Security Plans (SSPs) throughout system lifecycles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of information technology, computer science, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or a closely related discipline.
  • Must have 5+ years of recent and related work experience.

  • Strong experience in IM/IT solution development, automation, or enterprise systems support.
  • Knowledge of NASA/MSFC IT policies, OCIO service structures, cybersecurity requirements, and identity/access management.
  • Proficiency in application design, coding, troubleshooting, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, cloud services, workflow automation, and system lifecycle support.
  • Experience coordinating IT activities across multiple organizations or mission support environments.
  • Ability to manage IT hardware/software assets, device compliance, patching, and endpoint security.
  • Skill in documenting technical processes, producing security plans, and supporting SSP development.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, especially in resolving technical or process‑related issues.
  • Effective communication skills for interfacing with OCIO teams, leadership, and end‑users.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle escalations, and support onboarding/offboarding workflows.
  • Experience in teamwork, cross‑functional collaboration, and supporting mission‑critical operations.
  • Adaptability and willingness to research, recommend, and implement innovative IT solutions.

  • This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

Requirements

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

  • Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
