As a Programme Manager, you will take full ownership of one or more strategic programmes within Product Development, overseeing multiple interdependent projects from inception through to delivery. Operating autonomously, you will define programme strategy, governance, and structure, while aligning with the broader programme office and organisational objectives. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Project Management and senior stakeholders to drive measurable business outcomes across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-directed leader who can guide and coordinate Project Managers and other change initiatives within the programme, navigate ambiguity, and translate strategic goals into tangible delivery results.
Responsibilities

- →Plan, design, and lead end-to-end programme delivery, ensuring outcomes are met on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
- →Define and implement programme governance, including frameworks, escalation paths, and decision-making authority.
- →Ensure the programme is aligned with organisational strategy and deliver measurable business value.
- →Proactively monitor progress, manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID), and initiate corrective action when needed.
- →Guide and support Project Managers within the programme, ensuring coherence and shared accountability across delivery teams.
- →Occasionally manage and drive smaller projects and/or initiatives within the programme, ensuring scope, quality, timelines, and stakeholder alignment are maintained.
- →Facilitate resource allocation within the programme and coordinate people, budgets, and tooling to maintain delivery momentum.
- →Identify, track, and report on programme benefits to ensure tangible value is realised throughout the programme lifecycle.
- →Lead stakeholder engagement at all levels; provide structured updates to senior management and maintain transparency across the programme.
- →Champion continuous improvement in programme operations, governance practices, and delivery quality.
- 5+ years of experience in programme or senior project management, with a proven track record of independently leading complex, large-scale programmes.
- Experience managing cross-functional programmes in technology or software delivery environments (Agile, hybrid, or structured delivery methodologies).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and guide Project Managers and coordinate across multiple delivery teams or project offices.
- Experience engaging and reporting to senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders.
- Project management certification: PMP, or Prince2 Practitioner (or equivalent).
- Exposure to programme and portfolio management frameworks (MSP, P3O, PMI, or equivalent).
Nice to have:
- Programme management certification desirable: MSP, PgMP.
- Strong leadership, communication, and senior stakeholder management skills.
- Structured, outcome-oriented approach to delivery with the proven ability to operate independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and MS 365 tooling.
- Ability to engage credibly with engineering and product teams without requiring deep technical expertise.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while maintaining clarity, direction, and stakeholder confidence.
