POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a Metrology Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract. The Metrology Engineer is responsible for the calibration, qualification, and thermal mapping of client equipment in regulated Life Science and Adjacent industry. The role supports the full CQV lifecycle and ensures that measurement systems, qualification protocols, and thermal mapping activities are accurate, statistically sound, and compliant with applicable industry standards and regulations. The Metrology Engineer develops, executes, and reviews qualification and calibration methods, performs verification and maintenance of metrology and thermal mapping instrumentation, and applies principles of statistics, mathematics, physics, and laboratory science to analyse measurement systems and improve procedures. The incumbent is responsible and accountable for supporting and executing the PSC mission: “To maintain the integrity and professionalism of our products and services while enabling steady growth and development.” DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CQV & Thermal Mapping Perform qualification and thermal mapping of client equipment including autoclaves, ovens, cold rooms, freezers, warehouses, and other controlled environments. Develop, author, execute, and review CQV lifecycle documentation, including: Design Qualification (DQ) Risk Assessments Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) Installation Qualification (IQ) Operational Qualification (OQ) Performance Qualification (PQ) Process Validation (PV) Thermal mapping protocols and final reports in compliance with cGMP, GDP, and 21 CFR requirements. Ensure all protocols are technically accurate, statistically valid, and executed to regulatory standards. Metrology & Calibration Perform calibration, verification, and maintenance of metrology and thermal mapping instrumentation. Develop, evaluate, and maintain calibrated measurement systems. Identify sources of measurement error and assess their impact on measurement reliability. Apply statistical and scientific methods to analyse measurement performance and recommend corrective actions. Assist engineering, quality, and laboratory personnel in the correct use of measurement standards, instruments, and test systems. Operations & Project Support Collaborate with the Metrology Manager to ensure accurate scheduling and execution of work across the regional area. Lead or support on-site Engineering and metrology projects as part of the PSC Biotech team. Effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment. Complete all required training on metrology equipment, SOPs, and documentation in a timely manner. Assist with the development, review, and maintenance of SOPs and departmental documentation. Support the development of PSC Biotech’s presence in the regional area by building relationships with existing and prospective clients. Perform additional duties as assigned. Agility – Effectively manages competing priorities and delivers results under tight and changing timelines. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline. 2–3+ years of experience in equipment calibration and metrology (preferred). 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry (preferred). Hands-on experience working with measurement, calibration, and thermal mapping equipment. Strong time-management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to identify complex problems, analyze related information, and implement effective solutions.
