Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is looking for a Houseperson to join our hardworking and friendly team in Ucluelet, BC. This is a physically active role that touches all corners of the resort, from sparkling public spaces to laundry support, supply runs, and guest requests.

No two days are the same. You’ll work closely with Housekeeping and Guest Services, helping to keep things clean, stocked, and running smoothly, so our guests can enjoy the relaxed, west coast experience they came for.

This is a great fit for someone who:

  • Likes staying active and working with their hands throughout the day
  • Takes pride in maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked spaces
  • Works well as part of a team but can also take initiative independently
  • Communicates clearly and respectfully with coworkers across departments
  • Is dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to jump in wherever needed
  • Enjoys variety in their day and is comfortable with a physically demanding role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining cleanliness of resort common areas including lobbies, washrooms, hallways, staff spaces, and public areas
  • Assisting Room Attendants by stripping rooms, delivering linens, restocking supplies, and supporting room turns
  • Supporting Guest Services by helping with guest deliveries and errands around the resort
  • Reporting maintenance issues promptly and appropriately
  • Following safety guidelines when using cleaning products and equipment
  • Handling and cataloguing lost and found items
  • Upholding resort hygiene, safety, and sustainability standards

Requirements:

  • Comfortable lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and stand or walk for long periods
  • A team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic
  • Good English language skills for communication and task coordination
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Able to stay calm and focused when pulled in different directions; can manage interruptions and shifting priorities throughout the day

We offer:

  • Staff discounts and associate hotel rates
  • Extended health, dental, and life insurance (after eligibility period)
  • Volunteer support opportunities
  • Team enrichment events
  • Low-cost, on-site housing (if available)
  • A respectful and inclusive workplace

Black Rock Resort resides within the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ – Ucluelet First Nation traditional territory, of whose ancestral lands we work and play.

Please note: We are not able to sponsor foreign workers for this role at this time. Applicants must have a valid Canadian work permit or legal eligibility to work in Canada.

If you are ready to bring your energy and reliability to a team that keeps the whole resort running smoothly, we would love to hear from you.
