We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Associate Project Manager to support our Construction team at Blank Street. In this role, you’ll help drive retail buildouts from early planning through closeout — coordinating timelines, critical path vendors, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality stores on schedule. This is a hands-on opportunity where you will bridge the gap between project data and on-the-ground execution. This is an in-person role based out of our Brooklyn, NY office and reports to the Head of Construction.

  • Builder’s Mindset: Someone excited by the craft of bringing spaces to life and improving how projects get delivered.
  • Strong Coordinator: Someone who can keep multiple workstreams moving, follow up consistently, and anticipate next steps.
  • Detail-Oriented & Organized: A person who won’t let key deliverables, approvals, or deadlines slip through the cracks.
  • Efficient w/ Systems: Someone comfortable using tools like Asana (or similar), spreadsheets, and shared docs to track actions and communicate status.
  • Proactive & Inquisitive: An individual eager to learn construction processes, ask great questions, and continuously improve the playbook.
  • Reliable Communicator: A team player who can communicate clearly with internal partners and external vendors, escalating issues early when needed.
  • Project Tracking & Reporting: Maintain project trackers, action logs, and weekly updates so stakeholders have clear visibility to schedule, scope, and risks.
  • Vendor / Consultant Coordination: Support coordination with architects, general contractors, and vendors to keep deliverables on track.
  • Budget & Change Support: Help track commitments, invoices, and change orders; flag variances and support documentation for approvals.
  • Procurement & Lead-Time Tracking: Assist with tracking long-lead items (equipment/FF&E/finish packages), delivery dates, and readiness for install.
  • Site Visits & Field Coordination: Conduct ad-hoc site visits/punch walks, document open items, and help drive follow-through with GCs, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Permitting & Municipal Coordination: Track permitting submissions/approvals and support coordination with landlords, permit expediters, agencies, and municipalities (including attending hearings/meetings as needed) to keep projects unblocked.
  • Meeting Cadence & Follow-Through: Schedule and run ad-hoc working sessions, capture decisions, and publish clear action items and due dates to keep execution moving.
  • Closeout Support: Evolve to help drive punchlist, turnover documentation, and closeout materials to enable smooth handoff to Facilities/Ops.
