Building Poppy & Peonies has been an incredible adventure. It all started when my daughter Poppy was born, and I found that my accessories no longer fit my new life as a mom. I needed bags with pockets and organization that looked cool but also had functionality. When I couldn’t find them, I decided to create them myself. And so, in 2015, Poppy & Peonies was born.
We’ve come a long way since then—from filling orders in my basement to appearing on Dragons’ Den, and now, expanding into new product categories and collaborating with exciting influencers and brands. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but thanks to our incredible community, we’ve never felt more loved and supported!
We believe in our responsibility to care for the environment and are passionate about preserving the health and welfare of our planet and the animals that live on it. That’s why all of our bags are made from high-quality vegan leather, and our entire product line is vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-approved. We ship our products plastic-free and use a combination of recycled, compostable, and biodegradable materials to mitigate shipping waste. We are constantly looking for new ways to make our products and supply chain more sustainable, reducing our carbon footprint.
Poppy & Peonies is looking for a performance-driven, brand-savvy Director of Digital Marketing to lead customer acquisition, paid media, and digital growth strategy across all channels. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll own how new customers discover and engage with the brand, driving scalable growth while protecting and elevating the Poppy & Peonies brand experience. You’ll lead digital marketing strategy across paid social, search, affiliate, and media buying while partnering closely with creative and ecommerce teams to deliver cohesive campaigns that drive measurable growth.
Own and evolve the paid digital marketing strategy across Meta, TikTok, Google, and emerging acquisition channels
Own and lead relationships with paid media agency
Own the key acquisitions metrics and outcomes
Manage and optimize acquisition budgets with a strong focus on efficiency, scalability, and return on ad spend
Lead full-funnel media planning across prospecting, retargeting, and campaign amplification initiatives
Identify new customer acquisition opportunities, audience strategies, and growth channels that support long-term scale
Partner closely with creative teams to develop high-performing paid assets aligned with brand standards and campaign goals
Monitor and optimize acquisition metrics including CAC, ROAS, MER, and new customer growth
Develop integrated digital growth strategies that support revenue targets, launches, and seasonal campaigns
Lead testing strategies across creative, landing pages, messaging, audience segmentation, and media buying tactics
Build audience targeting strategies to improve acquisition efficiency and campaign performance
Partner cross-functionally to ensure cohesive campaign execution across marketing channels without directly owning retention channels
Identify opportunities to improve attribution, forecasting, and media mix effectiveness
Own digital marketing reporting and communicate channel performance, insights, and growth opportunities to leadership
Build dashboards and forecasting models that provide visibility into acquisition efficiency and marketing contribution
Analyze campaign performance, customer acquisition trends, and channel data to inform future investment decisions
Champion a culture of testing, optimization, and performance accountability across the digital marketing function
Collaborate closely with creative, ecommerce, finance, and leadership teams to align marketing strategies with broader business goals
Represent digital marketing in leadership discussions, bringing a clear perspective on growth opportunities and investment priorities
Lead and mentor team members, agencies, and external partners with clarity and accountability
Foster a culture of agility, experimentation, and thoughtful decision-making across the marketing organization
Proven experience leading digital marketing and customer acquisition within a direct-to-consumer, retail, fashion, or lifestyle brand
Deep expertise across paid social, paid search, media buying, and performance marketing strategy
Strong understanding of attribution, analytics, and customer acquisition metrics
Hands-on experience with advertising platforms, including Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and related tools
Track record of scaling revenue and customer growth through data-driven acquisition strategies
Experience managing agencies, freelancers, or external marketing partners
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights
Highly organized and comfortable balancing strategy with execution in a fast-moving environment
A builder mentality with excitement for ownership, experimentation, and scaling growth responsibly
Strong communication and collaboration skills across creative, ecommerce, and leadership teams
Genuine interest in fashion, lifestyle, and community-driven brands
