We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting the month-end and year-end close process, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting with financial reporting and technical accounting matters.

The ideal candidate is a strong accounting professional who can work independently, identify issues, improve processes, and serve as a trusted resource to the accounting team and other departments.

Responsibilities

  • →Manage and perform key activities within the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • →Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, lease accounting, fixed assets, accruals, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
  • →Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring, accrual, reclassification, and adjusting entries
  • →Analyze account activity and investigate unusual or unexpected variances
  • →Assist with preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reporting
  • →Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for financial transactions and account balances
  • →Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
  • →Assist with lease accounting and other areas requiring technical accounting analysis
  • →Perform intercompany accounting and reconciliation activities
  • →Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities as needed
  • →Support internal and external audit requests and provide requested schedules and documentation
  • →Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • →Collaborate with operations, finance, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • →Take ownership of assigned accounting areas and ensure deadlines are consistently met

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger accounting
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Strong experience with account reconciliations and financial statement analysis
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and other financial analysis functions
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities and intercompany or entity-specific accounting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Requirements

  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience with fixed assets, leases, intercompany accounting, and/or technical accounting
  • Experience working in a growing or evolving organization
  • QuickBooks Enterprise and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience

We are looking for someone who does more than simply record transactions. The successful candidate will understand the numbers, ask questions, identify issues, and take ownership of getting things right.

This person should be comfortable working with multiple entities, fixed assets, ASC 842 lease accounting , and month-end close activities. Strong Excel skills and the ability to identify and investigate discrepancies are essential.

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Reports To: Accounting Manager
  • Location: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, Fully In Office (No Remote, No Hybrid) Near Metro Zoo (Coral Reef)
  • Compensation: $85,000 yearly, 10% Discretionary Bonus
