Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a 24-hour specialty and emergency animal hospital located in Portland, Oregon. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care through collaboration, innovation, and compassion. Our hospital offers Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Urgent Care services. 

Are you passionate about veterinary medicine and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Laboratory and Pharmacy Technician to join our dedicated team. This position plays a vital role in supporting doctors and clinical staff by ensuring efficient laboratory operations, accurate pharmacy management, and timely diagnostic testing. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and enjoys working collaboratively to provide outstanding patient care.

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • 3, 12 hour shifts or 4, 10 hour shifts
  • Includes weekends

Requirements

  • Flexibility to work additional hours when needed. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills. 
  • Reliable, patient, enthusiastic, and committed to working collaboratively within a team. 
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced specialty and emergency hospital environment. 

 

  • Minimum of two years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant, preferably in an emergency or specialty hospital. 
  • Strong understanding of veterinary laboratory procedures and pharmacy operations. 
  • Experience with SmartFlow, EzyVet, Cubex, and IDEXX systems is preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments. 

 

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision. This position requires walking and/or standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted, 75 lbs. with assistance. Must be able to work flexible hours including some holidays, evenings and weekends.
