British Council Tunisia offers course to students across 3 life-stages; Primary, Secondary, and Adults; mainly in our centre in central Tunis, welcoming around 2000 students each week through our doors. You will lead a team of 20+ teachers, with a range of experience from those still starting their career to those with several years of experience and higher-level teaching qualifications. Role Purpose The role focuses on enhancing professional development and academic quality within the teaching centre by managing inhouse teacher development programmes and providing effective support. It ensures highquality English teaching and engaging learning experiences for students, while also contributing to the wider aims of the British Council and its mission to build cultural relations through education. Main Accountabilities: Teacher Support & Development: In this role, you will lead and support a highperforming teaching team through effective line management, in-service training, regular observations, and a strong focus on staff wellbeing. Ensuring all teaching meets and exceeds British Council standards will be central to your work. Teaching Excellence: You will champion teaching excellence by shaping and delivering the annual CPD programme, identifying development opportunities, and modelling outstanding classroom practice through your own teach, training sessions, and thought leadership. You’ll stay up to date with ELT developments, share best practice, and represent the British Council at relevant ELT events. Product Delivery: You will also play a key role in strengthening product quality and delivery by embedding teaching and learning frameworks, supporting crossteam collaboration, handling academic enquiries, and helping introduce and pilot new courses. A strong commitment to safeguarding, EDI, and SEND is essential, as you will help implement country plans for teaching, support inclusive practices, and contribute to a safe and welcoming learning environment for all. Qualifications & Experience Essentials: * English Proficiency: Full Mastery of English across 4 skills, equivalent to CEFR C2 (IELTS Academic Paper Band 8/9 in each of the 4 sections). * Certification: Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL, and Cambridge DELTA or Trinity DipTESOL (or equivalent qualifications recognised by the British Council). * Teaching Experience: 1. Minimum 2 years TEFL-Q (DELTA, Trinity Diploma or equivalent) teaching experience. 2. Age Group Experience \- Primary (6–10): 400+ hours \- Lower Secondary (11–14): 800+ hours \- Upper Secondary (15–17): 400+ hours \- University/Vocational (18–25): 400+ hours \- Adults General English (18+): 800+ hours * Education: University degree or equivalent. * Extensive experience in delivering teacher training, along with proven expertise in line managing and coordinating teaching teams. Desirables: * Relevant Young Learner qualification * Relevant masters/post graduate qualification Important Information * Location: Tunisia * Job type: Full time (37.5 hours/week) * Work Schedule: Teaching is currently face-to-face across 6 working days (Tuesday to Sunday), with most teaching happening Tuesday to Saturday, afternoons & evenings. * Contract type: Indefinite * Annual leave: 35 days + 14 public holidays * Relocation support is provided for non-Tunisian nationals who are not currently residing in the job location. This support includes visa costs, an incoming flight, a settling-in allowance, and temporary accommodation on arrival. * Gross monthly salary: from 4,100 TND * Monthly Transport Allowance: 36 TND * Presence Allowance: 2 TND * Deadline to receive applications: 13th May 2026 Benefits for non-Tunisian candidates who are relocating to the job location: * Foreign hire allowance: 2500 TND per month. This amount is taxable.
