As the Senior Manager of Commercialization, Asia you will be responsible for managing the commercialization strategies, processes, and teams across all Asia factory locations. You will establish the short-, medium-, and long-term goals for the team, building the processes and tools that ensure confirmed models are ready for production. You will identify, build, and maintain vendor relationships across multiple tiers and align with internal teams to ensure our shoes continually perform to specifications.

You will oversee the management team responsible for leading a strong group of engineers who deliver all seasonal projects with your guidance and support. You communicate and collaborate with senior management to proactively anticipate risks and resolve issues that could impact production schedules and product performance. You are in expert in footwear engineering, manufacturing, tooling, design, development, and construction and have demonstrated the ability to embed these best practices into the daily work of the team.  Communication, leadership, influence and collaboration skills are critical in order to work across different functions and levels of the organization to identify problems and develop solutions that drive product and process improvements while maintaining the fit, feel, ride, and quality of Brooks footwear.

  • Plan and manage all aspects of the Brooks commercialization process Activities in Asia. Plan the annual, 3 and 5 year strategies and goals for the team, including plans for organizational growth.
  • Lead and oversee the commercialization process and make recommendations to optimize and improve commercialization of product as well as the transition of projects into and out of the commercialization spaces. Collaborate with Development and QA leadership on making improvements to our internal processes.
  • Engage in regular communication with Asia and HQ Production Planning to ensure products will be commercialized in accordance with the seasonal schedule; alert Sourcing leadership to commercialization issues and provide solutions and options to remedy any roadblocks.
  • Own and manage teams within the commercialization organization. Ensure goals, objectives and expectations for all teams are interconnected to work towards the same strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the translation of strategy and initiatives into functional processes for your teams.
  • Drive departmental goals, direction, and work priorities in alignment with company goals, setting achievable but demanding objectives linked to key strategies and holding the team accountable to meet them.
  • Oversee team resource planning; identify and escalate gaps in resourcing across your teams to inform resource planning and headcount decisions. 
  • Play an integral role in leading change management and resourcing to scale the commercialization team.
  • Anticipate, communicate and proactively manage opportunities and challenges for the commercialization team.
  • Ensure best practices are updated and the benefits are quantified / justified appropriately.

  • Build an onboarding program for new hires and a “key skill matrix” for all job levels within the function.
  • Develop team performance metrics and report them to Brooks management on a periodic cadence.
  • As a leader on the Sourcing management team, be proactive in maintaining and improving team culture by identifying gaps and delivering solutions to address opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide opportunities and feedback to team members to build their skill sets and stretch opportunities for them to grow their career.

  • Build strong relationships with various levels of leadership in both Brooks and factories. Facilitate change by influencing Brooks and factory management. Support the team and influence factory decisions to utilize processes that lower cost and increase productivity.
  • Collaborate with other Sourcing functional leaders to ensure new technologies, projects and goals are integrated into the seasonal work of the team.
  • Collaborate with Development leadership and facilitate changes in our inline products that support improved commercialization and production; act as a conduit to Costing when improvements are made.
  • Oversee and ensure alignment to Brooks standards across all commercialization Product Engineering teams which will be embedded with our factory partners.

  • Lead commercialization innovation and partner cross-functionally to build the tools and processes that continuously advance Brooks processes.
  • Evolve, innovate and evangelize processes/ technology/design/systems, etc.
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovation in the material and manufacturing space and be a thought leader across the organization.
