As a Flex Driver with BWI, you make the difference. You will deliver a quality product and provide our customers with top notch customer service. Being a Flex Driver for BWI is much more than driving a truck and comes with some great benefits.

In this role, you will:

  • Primarily operate a semi unit with a 53’ drop deck trailer, Dodge 550 spreader truck, and bulk bags of fertilizer.
  • Be responsible for the loading and unloading of the spreader from the trailer.
  • Be responsible for spreading fertilizer at job sight according to work order specifications.
  • Drive tractor-trailer combinations and straight trucks to transport and deliver products.
  • Frequently interact with customers.
  • Follow safety and placarding procedures.
  • Perform trip, vehicle, and equipment inspections.
  • Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair.
  • Obtain delivery receipts/signatures.
  • Correctly maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
  • Properly secure cargo for transport.
  • Read invoices to determine assignment details.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and damage to vehicles or property.
  • Collect delivery instructions, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Operate Elog device (people net).
  • Understanding of weights and measurements
  • Operating loading-related equipment. (Some manual unloading may be required.)
  • Collaborate with other BWI employees (e.g., employee training and sharing information) to ensure customer satisfaction and teamwork.

To apply, you must:

  • Be at least 23 years old.
  • Have a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) ‘A’ with Haz-Mat and Tanker Endorsement.
  • Have at least one-year CDL driving experience.
  • Have a clean MVR with less than 3 moving violations over three-year period.
  • Be able to pass DOT physical & DOT drug screen.
  • Have no DWI / DUI convictions within the past 5 years.
