Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: 6:45pm to 7:00am. Hours alternate weekly between 36 hours and 48 hours. You will train on days which is 6:45am – 7:00pm.
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour + $1.00 per hour shift differential.
Attendance Incentive: Employees who maintain perfect attendance earn an additional 5% of their weekly gross pay.
Position Summary
The Production Scheduler Expeditor assists the PPC Manager with scheduling production according to demand and quality requirements. This position expedites multiple projects of varying complexity throughout the entire project life cycle, from raw material through shipping, and serves as the conduit for production-related communication between the shop floor and management regarding schedule, inventory, and quality issues. The goal is to ensure a smooth and cost-efficient flow of production operations.

The goal is to ensure a smooth and cost-efficient flow of production operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively monitor jobs and corresponding physical work center locations in real time.
- Maximize efficiency by staging fibers and raw materials in each process and expediting as needed.
- Assist in scheduling shifts according to production needs and predict how long projects will take to complete.
- Ensure jobs are correctly completed through every step of the process on time and within budget; take action to resolve discrepancies.
- Address and escalate scheduling issues when they arise, aiming for minimum disruption, and assist in meeting shipping goals as defined by the Production Manager.
- Organize project and customer order paperwork, including travelers and purchase requisitions, maintain records, and ensure complete and accurate information is entered into the system promptly.
- Maintain work order conformance on a day-to-day basis and assist in assigning daily tasks to the production department.
- Provide accurate daily reporting of production status, schedules, updates, and corrective actions taken to resolve issues.
- Physically track jobs and/or parts throughout the manufacturing facility for status updates.
- Assist in determining manpower and identifying appropriate equipment and raw materials needed to meet or exceed production demand.
- Ensure production supply inventories are maintained and notify the appropriate purchasing associates when items need to be restocked.
- Participate directly in continuous improvement planning and execution.
- Occasionally conduct teleconference calls with department leadership to review schedules and provide status updates.
- Support 5-S and adhere to company Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.
- Perform cross-functional operations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills related to managing a production schedule.
- Advanced communication skills using email, enterprise resource software, and teleconference equipment.
- At least 2 years of manufacturing production control experience within a job-shop environment.
- Ability to prioritize and react to project changes.
- Excellent PC skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Ability to learn cross-functional operations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Ability to pass pre-employment examinations, including background check and drug test.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive movements, including bending and stretching.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to move and/or lift at least 60 pounds as required.
